For Project Monitoring & Management of Government Works
The Government implements various infrastructure projects and executes its maintenance through various engineering departments and organisations. The success and efficiency of the Government depends very much on the effective monitoring and management of the project execution and timely interventions to solve the various hurdles or bottlenecks which may affects the execution of the projects. Project review and monitoring plays a vital role in the effective and proper implementation of infrastructure projects which helps to solve issues in a time bound manor and thereby saves public money to a larger extent. The introduction of PRICE software and its enterprise level version PRICE-3 has changed the way public works has been managed and as of now all activities related to the execution and management of public works are being done through online systems.
The "Project Management System (PMS)" was envisioned by the Public Works Department under the leadership of Minister Shri. P. A Mohammed Riyas to augment the capacity for timely project delivery, understanding of the need for real-time project information, proper monitoring, increased efficiency of the government , coordination amongst all the wings of the department & various authorities of the government, cutting down on delays, taking prompt decisions and to achieve total transparency. The "Project Management System (PMS)" is part of the series of proactive, pre-emptive and graded measures taken by the Government of Kerala to spur the technology-led innovation ecosystem in the government departments and stay at the forefront of digital adoption.
This Online Software system is intended as a Project Monitoring and Management tool for all organisations under the Government and is being developed by the National Informatics Centre in association with the Public Works Department. This system is a controlled login based one and is integrated with the PRICE-3 software system so that real time data is available for the project monitoring purpose. This system is having the following features.
